Seoljanggu & Gayageum is an original percussion performance piece for the janggu (hourglass drum) created in collaboration with gayageum (string) player. The janggu is traditionally an instrument that accompanies others. Lee wanted to invert that norm and create a piece in which the janggu was the main instrument accompanied by another but still utilize traditional rhythms and melodies. Performed at the Vittum Theater in Chicago.
